Mortal Shell II Seals

On this page

Start with your defensive rhythm

Seals belong to the defensive side of a Mortal Shell II loadout. The game’s combat is stamina-free, but that does not mean every attack string is safe. Your Seal choice should support how you already survive: a timely Harden, a guard, a parry attempt or a more forgiving route through the combat system.

Seal Ability Effect
Untarnished Seal Guard block with the weapon; a Perfect Guard deals Break Damage
Vatra’s Seal Harden absorb the next hit; a Perfect Harden deals Break Damage
Infinite Seal Parry a higher-risk parry that breaks enemies more efficiently
Slayer Seal Gloomslayer Sidearms deal Break Damage; ripostes restore some Health and Resolve

Let the Seal cover your weak spot

Harden is the series-defining answer when you can see an enemy’s hit coming. It lets you keep pressure without assuming you can safely finish every animation. A guard or parry plan asks for different timing, so take a few fights to learn what the Seal actually lets you recover from before changing weapons and Tarstones around it.

Do not treat Seals as a damage slot. Their value is the opening they create. A successful defensive response can give a heavy weapon room to commit, save Resolve for a Sidearm, or let a mobile Shell get back into a safe position. Once that loop feels natural, choose upgrades that reward it.
