Foundry Stone unlocks equipment upgrade refunds at the Tarforge. Its chest is south of the Outskirts of Mammon Beacon, beside the enemies guarding the gate at the castle wall. Bring the stone to Franz in Marrow Keep after collecting it.
Start at Outskirts of Mammon
- Travel to Outskirts of Mammon. Check the Beacon name before setting off; this pickup is outside the castle.
- Head south toward the wall and gate. Follow the dirt path through the wooden stakes and broken barricades.
- Deal with the enemies around the gate so you can open the nearby chest without being interrupted.
- Open the chest and check that the pickup reads Foundry Stone. It appears in your inventory as a small forge-shaped object.
The wooden stakes are a useful landmark on the approach. Keep moving toward the gate rather than searching inside the castle.
What to do with Foundry Stone
Return to Franz beside the Tarforge. Giving him the stone opens the option to remove upgrades from a primary weapon or Sidearm and recover the materials spent on it. The removal costs Gloom, so check the displayed price before confirming.
This is useful when you want to switch weapons after investing in an earlier pickup. Try the new weapon first, then decide whether the refund is worth the cost.
Found it but cannot equip it?
Foundry Stone is a Tarforge unlock item. Take it to Franz; it does not go into a Tarstone slot. For the other forge components and their functions, use the Upgrades Guide.
