Mortal Shell II Blackblood Stone Location

On this page

Blackblood Stone is in Mawbreak Cavern, the dungeon reached through the Pulsing Caves Beacon. Cross the plank bridges and search the left side of the final chamber for its bone chest. The stone gives a compatible Sidearm explosive projectiles.

Follow the cave route

  1. Reach Pulsing Caves in Sanguine Caverns. Use Cleanse Beacon to enter its dungeon if you have not cleared it yet.
  2. Follow the narrow stone doorway into Mawbreak Cavern. Continue through the first enemy chamber to the plank bridge.
  3. Cross the bridges and take the ascending passage. Watch the edges: the bridge route crosses an open drop.
  4. When the passage opens into the final chamber, check the left-hand side for the bone chest. The Ova are on the other side of the room.
  5. Clear the enemies around the chest, open it, and collect Blackblood Stone before finishing the dungeon.

Effect and compatible Sidearm

Blackblood Stone is a Combat Tarstone for Naylshotte. Its projectiles burst in mid-air and deal splash damage. Finding the stone does not automatically activate that effect: equip it to the compatible Sidearm.

The item screen lists splash-damage upgrades of 2, 3 and 4. These are the menu’s listed values; the pickup route does not require upgrading the stone first.

Why does it say Tarstone Incompatible?

The red message means the selected equipment cannot accept the stone. Select Naylshotte and the appropriate Combat slot before trying again. It is possible to own Blackblood Stone while using a different Sidearm; the screenshot above shows that situation.

For another pickup near the entrance to this region, follow the Deadeye Stone camp route. For forge requirements, see upgrading equipment and Tarstones.
