DREDGE Marrows Fish Guide: Day, Night, Rod, Net and Pot Catches
On this page
Use the starting waters to learn the schedule
The Marrows is the best place to separate a fish’s time from its capture gear. Day catches include Blue Mackerel, Cod, Gulf Flounder, Sailfish, and Bronze Whaler. Arrow Squid, Black Grouper, and Blacktip Reef Shark are night catches. Grey Eel is available at any time. A rod or trawl net can catch many of the ordinary fish, while Common Crab and Fiddler Crab require pots.
The table is a base-game pursuit and route checklist, not a full Marrows encyclopedia. Use it to choose a time window and installed method, then use the discovered fish entry for a single missing species or aberration. Sea Cucumber is an Iron Rig DLC catch in these waters, so it is deliberately covered with that DLC in Iron Rig Fish and Refining, rather than mixed into this baseline.
| Target | Time | Gear and route use |
|---|---|---|
| Cod / Blue Mackerel | Day | Rod or trawl net; simple first sales. |
| Arrow Squid / Black Grouper | Night | Rod or trawl net; needed for the second Caught to Order delivery. |
| Gulf Flounder | Day | Shallow rod or trawl-net catch for the first Caught to Order delivery. |
| Grey Eel | Any | Shallow rod or trawl-net catch for the first Caught to Order delivery. |
| Common Crab / Fiddler Crab | Any | Crab pots; needed for the third delivery. |
| Blacktip Reef Shark | Night | Rod or trawl net; make it a deliberate night run. |
Read the water and the encyclopedia together
Fishing spots show a habitat icon before you start the minigame. Fit a rod that covers that icon; a rod being physically installed does not mean it can work every spot. Trawl nets work while you sail and are useful for stock you do not need to target one at a time. Pots are the only answer for the base-game region’s Common Crab and Fiddler Crab.
When the encyclopedia marks a missing Marrows fish as day or night, rest at a dock until that window and sail a short loop between Greater and Little Marrow. Do not turn a Cod search into an overnight trip just because a different target needs darkness. Night Fishing and Panic covers the safer night routine.
Turn this into pursuit progress
The Marrows list overlaps Caught to Order almost exactly, so clear its orders while filling encyclopedia gaps. Keep the rods, pots, and a little cargo room ready, then report deliveries at Greater Marrow. If you are seeking one of the region’s odd deep catches, upgrade toward the required habitat rather than assuming every Marrows spot is a beginner catch. Research Parts helps choose that next unlock.
