Immortal Rising

Immortal Rising is a paranormal romance by the Canadian writer Lynsay Sands, published in 2022. It belongs to her Argeneau series, and its two leading characters are both, in different ways, one of a kind.

Stephanie McGill was attacked and turned when she was barely a teenager, and the abilities she came out of it with are unlike those of any other immortal. Thirteen years on, with the help of the Argeneau family that adopted her, she has made a life for herself that works, if a rather lonely one, and then a new neighbour moves in.

Thorne is the result of a genetic experiment and is neither an immortal nor a mortal. He has come looking for somewhere quiet where he can work out what he is, and Stephanie's refuge suits him so well that he begins to fall for her. The past is not finished with either of them, though: the scientist who created Thorne has now turned his attention to Stephanie, and the romance has to be worked out around a thriller's worth of pursuit.
