Tiffany Aching is fifteen and the only witch on the Chalk, where the work is unglamorous and consists mostly of looking after people who need it.

About

I Shall Wear Midnight is a comic fantasy novel by the English writer Terry Pratchett, published in the United Kingdom on 2 September 2010. It is set on the Discworld and is the fourth of his novels about the young witch Tiffany Aching; it won the Andre Norton Award for 2010.

Tiffany is fifteen in this book, and she has settled into the life of the Chalk's witch, which means being called out at all hours, settling quarrels and taking care of the people who need it. The suspicion that grows around her is a different kind of problem, because a witch in a small countryside can be useful for years and still be turned on the moment something goes wrong. When the Baron dies, Tiffany is accused of murdering him, and she has to travel to the city of Ankh-Morpork to tell the Baron's heir, Roland, what has happened, which means leaving the place where the accusation is being made. Her journey is interrupted by the Cunning Man, a figure with empty holes where his eyes should be.

Pratchett wrote the Tiffany Aching books for younger readers within the much larger Discworld series, and the title is taken from a line in an earlier book of hers.
