Approach and preparation
Armor Spider is the gate at the end of Stonefang’s Smithing Grounds, 2-1. Start from the Smithing Grounds Archstone, use the elevator route to Blacksmith Ed for repair or reinforcement, then take the central platform down to the fog. Once you have operated it, that platform is the stable route from the upper mine to the boss; it avoids repeating the full descent. Carry healing grass, but also bring a weapon that can land one or two quick hits. A bow or spell is a good second plan because the tunnel gives both sides a straight line.
Read the tunnel attacks
The first question is range. From the far end of the tunnel, Armor Spider fires individual fireballs and a web shot. When the abdomen lifts and moves, expect the web; step or roll sideways before it lands. If it catches you, do not press forward through the slowdown. Retreat until the next fireball burns the web away, or get behind the entrance-side stonework and reset. The single fireball is a chance to move one section closer, not a reason to sprint all the way to the boss.
At close range, the fight changes. Armor Spider uses its front legs and head around the mouth of the tunnel, so stand near a side rather than directly in front of it. Wait for a leg swipe or short melee sequence to finish, hit once or twice, then walk back to where you can see the full body. The boss does not have a separate health-bar phase. It swaps between its long-tunnel pressure and close-range swipes according to where you stand, which means you can choose the safer problem for your build.
The move that ends greedy attempts is the large fire-breath spread. The Spider rears back and fills much of the lane with flame. Turn around immediately and run toward the fog gate; trying to finish an attack beneath it leaves no room to escape. When the flame stops, advance again between the next fireball or web shot. A ranged character can stay near the entrance-side cover, fire a shot after the projectile passes, then return to cover. A melee character should treat every clean approach as a small trip, not a permanent position at the head.
Reward and next step
The kill gives the Hard Demon Soul and activates the Armor Spider Archstone for 2-2, the Tunnel City. Keep the soul until you have checked its options. Blacksmith Ed can use it in the Lava Bow route, while Sage Freke and Yuria have spell uses for it; consuming it early closes those choices for this playthrough. The immediate next boss is Flamelurker, but use the new Archstone to collect Stonefang upgrades and learn the Tunnel City shortcuts before committing to that faster fight.
