Dark Souls Remastered: Covenants and New Game Plus
This page includes story or boss spoilers.

Covenants are optional affiliations with their own online roles, rank rewards, and rules. Join one at its interaction point, then equip or use its relevant item when you want that activity. Read the covenant’s goal first: some invite co-op, some invasions, and some area defence. Do not hand in a rare offering just because an altar has a menu; decide whether its reward helps this character.
Changing covenant is possible, but a hard betrayal in Remastered needs absolution from Oswald before you can rejoin through a bonfire. That makes a quick experiment more expensive than it looks. If you care about covenant rewards, keep notes on which one you joined and avoid switching in frustration after a single failed online attempt.
After Gwyn, the game starts New Game Plus rather than leaving a free-roam epilogue. Most world progress resets while character progression and much equipment remain, with listed exceptions such as certain key progression items. Finish any shop visit, ember hand-in, optional boss, or covenant task you need before taking the final fight. New Game Plus is a new route with stronger pressure, not a safe post-credit errand list.
