Striking Vipers reunites Danny and Karl through a fighting game that lets them experience their characters’ bodies. Their sessions become a sexual relationship, while Danny grows distant from his wife Theo. A kiss outside the game does not recreate the same attraction, and their disagreement ends in a fight. Danny eventually tells Theo the truth. They settle on an annual arrangement: he meets Karl in the game while she goes out without her wedding ring.
Smithereens follows driver Chris as he abducts Jaden, an employee of the social-media company he blames for consuming his attention. Discovering that Jaden is only an intern does not end the kidnapping. Chris demands a call with founder Billy Bauer and admits that checking a notification caused the crash that killed his fiancée. Jaden tries to prevent him from killing himself, and police fire as they struggle. The ending leaves the shooting’s outcome unseen while distant phone users return to their routines.
Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too follows two sisters and a doll modelled on pop star Ashley O. Ashley’s aunt keeps the singer in a drug-induced coma and extracts new music from her brain. Removing the doll’s limiter releases a fuller copy of Ashley’s personality, which leads the sisters to the house. Disconnecting the machine wakes the singer rather than killing her. They interrupt the launch of her holographic replacement, and Ashley later performs rock music with Jack playing bass, reclaiming a career her aunt had tried to operate without her.
