A cartel raid on another Los Pollos Hermanos truck kills its guards and exposes the meth inside. Skyler worries Gale’s death has put Walt in danger. Walt reacts angrily, boasts about his place in the drug trade and implies he killed Gale. Skyler takes Holly to the Four Corners Monument and considers fleeing to Colorado, but turns back. Walt receives the car-wash keys from Bogdan and makes him leave his framed first dollar, which Walt uses to buy a soda.
Walt also buys Walter Jr. a Dodge Challenger. At the lab, he questions Jesse about his frequent trips with Mike. Jesse says he finally feels useful and accuses Walt of dismissing his work. Walt realizes Gus is using Jesse’s new role to divide them. When Mike calls Jesse away, Walt must clean alone and bribes three laundry workers to help. Tyrus later tells Walt that the workers will be sent back to Honduras because they saw too much.
Jesse and Mike find a house selling the stolen blue meth. Jesse tricks one user into letting him inside and knocks out another. Mike notices a message on a stolen container suggesting the group may be ready to talk. Gus later praises Jesse, strengthening his loyalty. Skyler returns home but tells Walt to return the Challenger because it undermines their cover story. She says someone must protect the family from the man who claims to protect it.
