Raise the World Tier When You Are Ready

On this page

OUTRIDERS lets you turn up the heat by increasing the world tier to face harder enemies and receive better loot, and the publisher ties that to having a perfected build first.

The tier is a deliberate dial

Four OUTRIDERS difficulty steps: perfect the build, raise the world tier, earn better loot, then take the build into Expeditions.
The tier is a dial you choose, not a wall you hit. Open the full image.

Because the store frames raising the tier as something you do once your build is perfected, the intended order is build first, difficulty second. Raising it while the build is still forming usually just makes the same problems feel worse.

Better loot needs a reason

Harder enemies drop better loot, which is the whole trade. There is no point holding a higher tier if you cannot clear the content in it, because the loot you are chasing has to be earned by fighting through it.

The endgame expects a finished character

Expeditions are described as 18 hand-crafted endgame levels with unique mechanics and challenges, and the Trial of Tarya Gratar as a dungeon crawl with brutal bosses. Both assume the build is already doing its job, so the tier you settle at is really preparation for those.

Turning the tier up is only useful with a build behind it: start from mods, skill trees and attributes, which depends on the class you chose.
