Monster Hunter Wilds Pop-up Camps: Setup, Safety, Repairs, and Fast Travel

On this page

Set up a Pop-up Camp at a discovered campsite to gain another fast-travel point and a place to manage your equipment and supplies. Camps use fixed eligible spots. You cannot pitch one on any patch of ground beside a monster.

Find a site and establish the camp

Look for the campsite’s tent-sign marker on the map. At the location, nearby butterflies and an available Camping Kit help you recognise the spot. Once camp setup is available to your character, you have two ways to establish one:

  1. Use the Camping Kit while standing at the eligible site, then confirm the Guild Point cost.
  2. Visit the Support Desk, open Manage Pop-up Camps, select a discovered site, and choose Set Up Camp.

Walking to a newly found site first lets you judge whether it is somewhere you will actually use. Consider the approach to your target and where you tend to gather supplies. A camp you repeatedly pass on those trips earns its place more easily than a distant marker you rarely visit.

Compare safety and cost

Site safety Guild Points to set up How to weigh the choice
Safe 25 A useful starting choice when you want a dependable return point.
Insecure 50 Consider how much travelling it saves you.
Dangerous 75 Be prepared for a more vulnerable camp and possible repair costs.

Proximity can still make a vulnerable site useful. The decision is whether it helps enough during your hunts to justify looking after it. If the same camp is constantly destroyed, try another site instead of paying for the same inconvenient placement again.

Restore a destroyed camp

Visit the Support Desk or Pop-up Camp Meowster to pay for an immediate repair. The Guild Point charge matches that site’s setup cost. You can also wait for free automatic repairs.

Pay when you need that return point for the next hunt. If another functioning camp already serves the route, use it while repairs happen. Check the map before setting out so your plan does not depend on a camp that is still unavailable.

Only a limited number of camps can be active in each locale. When you need room for another, remove an unused camp through camp management, then establish the replacement. Keep the site you use most often until you have decided which new position will help.

Use the tent for a proper restock

Select a functioning camp on the map when you want to fast travel there. Camps also support equipment and item management, starting quests, and returning after a faint. Inside the tent, crafting can use your stored resources; crafting out in the field uses what you are carrying.

Before leaving the tent, check that the supplies you meant to bring are actually in your pouch. If all you need is a meal, the Portable BBQ Grill lets you cook in the field without making a special camp trip.

Use Quest Progression and Preparation to check your equipment and supplies before leaving camp.
