Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex
Artemis Fowl has put his whole fortune into a project that he believes will save the planet and everybody on it, human and fairy alike.
About
Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex is a novel by the Irish writer Eoin Colfer, published in 2010. It is one of the books about Artemis Fowl, a teenage criminal mastermind who operates in a world where fairies and magic are real.
The premise of this one is that Artemis has given away the whole of his fortune to a project he believes will save the planet and everything living on it, including the fairies whose world he has spent years trying to exploit. Artemis has spent years taking advantage of that world, so giving his money away is not what anybody expects of him.
Captain Holly Short of the fairy police does not believe it. She has dealt with Artemis often enough to know what he is capable of, and the change in him is not what she expects from him.
The book takes its title from Atlantis, and the question of what has happened to Artemis is the puzzle that the novel sets up. The Atlantis Complex of the title is the name the novel gives to it.
