Wednesday enlists the Nightshades to capture Tyler, then alienates her helpers by torturing him for a confession. The sheriff intervenes, and Weems expels her. Tyler privately admits that he is the Hyde and enjoys the killings. Before leaving, Wednesday visits the recovering Eugene, whose memory of red boots points her toward Marilyn Thornhill. With Weems impersonating Tyler, she confronts the teacher and exposes her as Laurel Gates. Laurel kills Weems and takes Wednesday to Crackstone's crypt. The collected body parts and Wednesday's blood allow her to resurrect the town's founder. Crackstone stabs Wednesday and heads for Nevermore, leaving her dying until Goody offers a final intervention.
Goody passes through Wednesday to heal her, warning that they will not meet again. Wednesday races back toward the school while her friends organise its evacuation. Enid finally transforms into a werewolf and fights Tyler, protecting Wednesday from the Hyde. At Nevermore, Bianca helps Wednesday overcome Crackstone, and Wednesday destroys him by striking his heart. Eugene's bees stop Laurel from completing her attack. The surviving students prepare to leave as the school closes early, and Wednesday accepts the friendships she had repeatedly resisted. Xavier gives her a phone before she departs. Threatening photographs soon arrive from an unknown sender, while Tyler begins transforming again during his transfer in custody.
