The Return, Part 6

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

A police officer takes Cooper home after finding him still beside the office statue. Janey-E tries to manage the case files, his confused behaviour and a blackmail photograph showing Dougie with Jade. She answers the threatening call herself and arranges to meet the men claiming the debt. Cooper receives another urgent visit from MIKE, who tells him to wake up. Guided by points of light, he draws lines and ladders over the insurance documents. Bushnell initially dismisses the work as scribbling, then sees connections in the markings and thanks him for exposing something he will investigate further.

Janey-E refuses the lenders' inflated demand and pays a smaller sum, ending that immediate threat to the family. Duncan Todd passes an assignment to Ike Stadtler, who receives photographs of Lorraine and Dougie. Ike murders Lorraine and other people at her office with a spike, bringing the failed attempt on Cooper into another violent phase. In Twin Peaks, Red intimidates Richard during a drug meeting. Richard drives away enraged and runs over a young boy without stopping, leaving the child's mother in the road while Carl tries to comfort her. Miriam sees the driver, and Richard later cleans the truck. Hawk discovers loose pages inside a bathroom stall door at the station. Albert enters a bar and finally approaches Diane.
