Investigators begin digging up Willie Overall, the man Tony killed early in his criminal career, after receiving information from Larry Barese. Tony and Paulie drive to Miami while they wait to learn where the inquiry is going. Paulie's constant reminiscences and careless conversation irritate Tony, who repeatedly asks whether he told Johnny Sack about Ralph's joke concerning Ginny. Paulie denies responsibility. Larry subsequently attributes Overall's murder to the dead Jackie Aprile, relieving Tony's immediate concern. During a fishing trip, Tony again questions Paulie and looks toward weapons on the boat, but he does not attack him. Paulie later dreams of Big Pussy and sends Tony an expensive espresso machine.

Another patient, Professor Lynch, reports the games, and Junior attacks him. Carter helps Junior evade the medication prescribed afterward, but Junior's deteriorating condition and the threat of transfer persuade him to comply with treatment. Carter becomes disillusioned by this submission and violently attacks Junior during a piano recital. Junior is later seen injured and subdued among the other patients in the garden. In New York, Phil orders the murder of Doc Santoro and his bodyguard, eliminating his rival and taking control of the family.
