A.J. returns to Carmela's house after Tony struggles to live with him. Carmela begins a sexual relationship with Robert Wegler, enjoying attention outside her marriage while worrying about her religious commitments. Father Phil reminds her of her vows, but confession does not end the affair. Her concerns about A.J. also follow her into the relationship, and she asks whether Wegler can persuade an English teacher to improve the grade on her son's paper.
Wegler does pressure the teacher, then becomes convinced that Carmela is using their intimacy to obtain academic favours. He confronts her, and she angrily denies manipulating him before leaving. When Hugh suggests she could meet someone else, Carmela says that being Tony's wife will always make her motives suspect. Her attempt to begin a new relationship ends with an accusation that ties her back to the influence and advantages of her marriage.
Blundetto earns his massage qualification and accepts Kim's offer to develop a business together. Finding a discarded bag of money disrupts those plans: instead of investing it, he spends much of it on clothes, drinking and gambling. Exhausted while preparing the premises, he lashes out when Kim arrives and beats his prospective partner. He later approaches Tony at Vesuvio and asks about the airbag operation, abandoning the legitimate opportunity he had worked to create.
