Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Tony meets Meadow's college friend Noah and learns that his father is Jewish and his mother is Black. He privately insults Noah and tells him to stay away from Meadow, provoking a furious argument with his daughter. Later, the picture on a box of Uncle Ben's rice precedes another panic attack. At work, Tony orders Ralph and Albert to stop setting fires during their dispute over garbage routes; Ralph instead has a man beaten.

Livia faces the possibility of testifying about the stolen airline tickets Tony gave her. When he visits, she responds defensively to his attempts to discuss the case. That evening, she dies after a stroke. Tony tells Melfi he is relieved, then worries that this makes him a bad son. He insists that Janice return and pays for her flight, while arranging an elaborate funeral despite Livia's stated opposition to one.

Janice searches the house for hidden money and quarrels with Svetlana over Livia's records. After the funeral, she gathers the mourners to share affectionate memories. Christopher, high on drugs, rambles about identity, while Carmela and Hugh reject the attempt to present Livia as a loving mother. Artie remembers Livia's disclosure about Tony burning his restaurant but keeps silent. Tony later watches The Public Enemy alone and cries during a scene involving the gangster's mother.
