The FBI raids Jimmy Altieri's club, finds hidden guns and arrests Jimmy and Pussy. After Pussy is released, Vin Makazian tells Tony that his friend has become an informant. Tony demands a report proving the claim and refuses to let Paulie act without seeing a wire. Pussy's back pain and withdrawal from collecting money worry the crew, while his refusal to undress at a bathhouse adds to Paulie's suspicions. Silvio discovers that Vin owes Pussy a large gambling debt, offering Tony another reason to distrust the accusation. A visit to Pussy's home fails to settle his doubts.
Vin is arrested during a police raid on a brothel and later dies after jumping from a bridge. His death leaves Tony without the documentation he demanded. Jimmy is also released and visits Tony's house, where he asks pointed questions about their recent robbery. Tony takes those questions as evidence that Jimmy is the informant and convinces himself that Vin's source confused him with Pussy. Pussy then disappears, leaving the crew unable to find him. At Green Grove, Livia tells Junior that Tony and other captains meet there while visiting their mothers. Junior interprets the gatherings as a conspiracy against his authority and orders Mikey and Chucky Signore to arrange an attack on Tony using outside gunmen.
