Din Djarin's rescuers capture Dr. Pershing and use his knowledge to plan an assault on Moff Gideon's cruiser. Bo-Katan Kryze and Koska Reeves join them, with Bo-Katan seeking both the ship and the Darksaber. Boba Fett stages an attack on their stolen shuttle so it can force a landing in the launch tube. Bo-Katan, Koska, Cara Dune and Fennec Shand head for the bridge while Din slips away to find Grogu.
Pershing has warned that the dark troopers are droids, and Din tries to seal their storage bay before they deploy. One gets out and nearly kills him before he destroys it with the beskar spear. He ejects the others into space, then finds Gideon guarding Grogu. Gideon offers to let them leave, only to attack with the Darksaber. Din defeats him and brings the prisoner and child to the bridge. Winning the weapon in combat gives Din its claim, leaving Bo-Katan unable to accept his offer to hand it over.
The dark troopers return and trap the rescuers behind the bridge doors. A lone X-wing arrives, carrying Luke Skywalker, who cuts through the droids and reaches Grogu. Gideon's attempt to exploit the confusion fails, and Cara prevents him from killing himself. Luke offers to train and protect the child, but Grogu waits for Din's permission. Din removes his helmet so they can say goodbye face to face. Grogu leaves with Luke and R2-D2, while Din remains aboard the captured cruiser.
