On Tython, the Mandalorian places Grogu on the seeing stone, where meditation surrounds him with a barrier of Force energy. Boba Fett arrives demanding the armor recovered from Cobb Vanth. Fennec Shand accompanies him, alive because he saved her after she was left wounded on Tatooine. Their confrontation becomes a bargain: return the armor, and they will protect the child. Imperial troop carriers arrive before the negotiation can lead to a peaceful departure.
The Mandalorian cannot get through the barrier to retrieve Grogu, so he joins Fett and Fennec against the stormtroopers climbing toward the temple. Fett recovers his armor from the Razor Crest and uses its weapons to break the attack, destroying the retreating transports. Their success on the ground cannot stop Gideon's cruiser above them. A blast destroys the Razor Crest, and dark troopers descend to carry away Grogu once the protective field has fallen. Fett follows the departing force without firing on the child.
Among the wreckage, the Mandalorian recovers the beskar spear. Fett shows the armor's record identifying his father Jango as a foundling, settling its ownership. He and Fennec insist that their promise still requires returning Grogu safely, giving the hunter allies for the rescue. Cara Dune is asked to locate Mayfeld, whose Imperial experience may help track Gideon's cruiser. Aboard that ship, Grogu exhausts himself resisting his captors before he is stunned and restrained. Gideon tells Pershing that their donor has been recovered.
