Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Hughie's attempt to fight Supe abuse through Victoria Neuman's bureau breaks down when he witnesses her kill a man with her powers. Maeve gives Butcher Temp V and a lead on a weapon that supposedly killed Soldier Boy. In Russia, the Boys instead find Soldier Boy alive. His escape blast strips Kimiko of her powers, and Butcher sees a chance to turn that same ability against Homelander.
Butcher and Hughie use temporary powers while helping Soldier Boy hunt the teammates who betrayed him. Mother's Milk refuses to accept an alliance with the man who killed members of his family, and Annie challenges Hughie's need to save her through greater strength. Homelander removes restraints on his behavior, benefits from Neuman's betrayal of Stan Edgar, and kills Supersonic after learning of Annie's planned resistance. Soldier Boy then reveals that he is Homelander's father.
The confrontation at Vought Tower changes when Soldier Boy threatens Ryan. Butcher turns against his own ally to protect the child, while Maeve fights Homelander. Soldier Boy is contained again by the CIA, and Maeve survives her apparent sacrifice, leaving the Seven alongside Annie. Butcher learns that Temp V has left him terminally ill. Neuman becomes Singer's running mate, and Homelander murders a protester in front of supporters who cheer him rather than recoil. Ryan watches at his side.
