Spoilers for Stranger Things season 5, episode 4.
The tagged Demogorgon reaches Derek's hiding place, but Steve's group drives it back into the Upside Down and follows it through the portal. Their vehicle crashes into the great organic wall. Will's connection gives him a glimpse of captive children, while the military rounds up pupils in Hawkins. Derek agrees to help the group reach those children inside the base and guide them toward an escape through underground tunnels.
Max explains to Holly that the house, woods and caves belong to Henry's memories. Her body remains unconscious in Hawkins while her mind hides in a cave that Henry refuses to enter. Elsewhere, Eleven and Hopper infiltrate Dr. Kay's facility to reach the guarded prisoner. They survive a confrontation with Kay and open the vault, discovering Kali, Eleven's fellow laboratory subject, instead of the Vecna they had expected.
The evacuation at the Hawkins base is interrupted when a child alerts the soldiers. Demogorgons break through and attack, and Vecna enters the base himself. He tells Will that he needs twelve children as vessels and that Will's earlier captivity showed him what could be done. As the creatures close on Will's friends, he draws on memories of the people he loves and turns his connection against them. Will stops and kills the attacking Demogorgons, saving his friends.
