Spoilers for Stranger Things season 5, episode 3.
Will identifies Holly's classmate Derek Turnbow as Vecna's next target, giving the group a chance to prepare a trap. Erica takes a drugged pie to the Turnbow home, allowing the others to remove the unconscious family and rig the house for the arriving Demogorgon. Their aim is to attach a tracker to the creature, drive it back into the Upside Down, and follow it to the missing children.
Eleven and Hopper remain blocked by the huge wall. Soldiers catch up with them and use a sonic weapon that disables Eleven until Hopper destroys it. They escape with a surviving soldier, whose memories reveal Dr. Kay's guarded facility and a mysterious prisoner behind a vault door. Eleven suspects the captive could be Vecna, but neither she nor Hopper has seen who is being held there.
Holly is living in a restored version of the Creel house, where Henry offers comfort and tells her to stay out of the woods. A message apparently from him persuades her to leave and follow a map. Meanwhile, the Hawkins trap succeeds in burning and tagging the Demogorgon. The pursuit becomes dangerous when it turns toward the barn sheltering Derek and his family. Holly reaches the marked meeting place in the woods and finds Max waiting for her.
