Soo-ho returns to Yeong-ro and gives her his sister's necklace before leaving. Seol-hui discovers that Gwang-tae has contacted the authorities and rushes to warn them, allowing Soo-ho to escape before Gang-mu arrives. Back inside, Bun-ok checks the open-house guest list and connects Yeong-ro's visitor with the fugitive hidden upstairs. The bloody clothes left with Man-dong supply further evidence. Seung-hee confronts the roommates, and Yeong-ro takes responsibility for the decision to shelter Soo-ho. Her friends receive warnings, but she is ordered to leave the dormitory. Preparing to return to her father's home, she writes a note expressing her feelings for Soo-ho.
Soo-ho resumes the operation involving Professor Han, using the professor's son in the North as leverage to secure his cooperation. An intercepted message brings Gang-mu back toward the university while Soo-ho collects weapons and money from a concealed cache. Finding Yeong-ro's paper-plane message draws his attention toward the dormitory again. Pursued by officers, he enters a hut with Man-dong's son Sang-beom and discovers a secret passage into the building. Gang-mu follows, and Soo-ho overpowers him before reaching the lobby. Yeong-ro comes downstairs as armed officers surround the man she has been waiting to hear from. Soo-ho seizes her and puts a gun to her head, threatening to kill her unless the officers lower their weapons.
