Yeong-ro and Soo-ho escape Seung-hee's inspection by balancing on a narrow ledge outside the fourth-floor room. When Yeong-ro slips, he catches her, reopening his shoulder wound as he pulls her back to safety. They return inside only to discover that the door has been locked. Paper planes briefly occupy them while they wait for help from Jeong-min and Man-dong. The caretaker then shows Soo-ho a concealed route out through the mechanical room, but officers waiting outside make departure impossible. Yeong-ro proposes using the dormitory's open house instead, when male guests will be allowed into the building and Soo-ho can blend into the crowd.
Yeong-ro retrieves her brother's suit from home, enduring a bitter encounter with her stepmother, Ae-ra. At the open house, she presents Soo-ho as her guest and tries to guide him past Seung-hee and Bun-ok. The route keeps being interrupted by visiting students, a shooting game and dancing. Soo-ho attracts attention by hitting every target, while Yeong-ro briefly imagines dancing alone with him. Jeong-min eventually supplies a bicycle and encourages them to ride together so they look like an ordinary couple. Outside the gate, Yeong-ro tries to make sure he remembers how to contact her. Gwang-tae spots them from a nearby café and alerts Gang-mu. Soo-ho rides away, then turns back toward Yeong-ro as the officers approach.
