Cali retaliates against the North Valley cartel after the attacks on Miguel and Pacho. Pacho makes a violent demand for the Salazars, and the organisation seizes rival territory rather than waiting peacefully for surrender. Inside the Rodríguez family, Miguel increasingly rejects Gilberto's instructions from prison. The partners' proposed exit now competes with Miguel's determination to keep the business and answer every challenge to his authority.
Jorge gives the DEA Miguel's location, and Peña secures General Serrano's help for a raid. Feistl and Van Ness enter the apartment building and search for a concealed space while Jorge tries to maintain his cover. Miguel hides behind the bathroom wall, close enough to be reached if the investigators can continue breaking through it. Differences in the apartment's measurements strengthen their belief that a compartment is there.
A prosecutor intervenes before the search can expose Miguel and orders the operation stopped. The Americans lose control of the scene and are recalled to Bogotá to answer for the failed raid. Miguel emerges alive, furious at how close they came, and refuses his brother's renewed appeal to surrender. Jorge is left behind with a cartel that now knows someone supplied its hiding place. Unable to rely on an immediate rescue, he tries to contact Paola and prepares a weapon to protect the family himself.
