Mr. Robot · Season 3 · Episode 2

Spoilers for this episode.

Elliot begins work at E Corp and spends the following weeks turning his new position against Stage 2. He exposes wrongdoing by company executives and redirects paper records away from the intended target. His office routine looks orderly, but the distance he has put between himself and Mr. Robot leaves him isolated. He persuades a manager to support digitising records rather than gathering them in one vulnerable recovery facility, giving his attempt to prevent the bombing a practical route forward.

Darlene is cooperating with the FBI, where Dom presses her for information about Tyrell and Elliot. She tries to monitor her brother while he sleeps, only to encounter Mr. Robot instead. The meeting confirms that Elliot has not simply rid himself of his other personality. At therapy, Krista also speaks with Mr. Robot, who says that he and Elliot have been compromised. Darlene eventually installs surveillance on Elliot's computer, putting their already fragile trust at risk.

Joanna's attempt to clear Tyrell through Derek ends violently when Derek confronts her about being used. He kills her before Sutherland shoots him. Elsewhere, Zhang ties the timing of Stage 2 to the Congo annexation vote and uses Angela to pressure Price. Elliot finishes the episode at Darlene's safe house: he has discovered the surveillance she placed on his computer, and now wants an explanation.
