Tyrell takes Elliot to the workspace where he has been preparing Stage Two with the Dark Army. E Corp is gathering paper records to reconstruct the information lost in Five/Nine. Their plan is to destroy the building holding those records by manipulating its backup power system. Elliot realizes that work he supplied for the FBI operation has also enabled this attack. He confronts Mr. Robot and tries to stop a plan that could kill people.
Darlene has survived the diner shooting, but Cisco is dead. Dom questions her, then shows her the FBI's investigation board linking fsociety's members and associates. She explains that Romero was killed by a stray shot, rather than the purge the group feared. Joanna discovers that Scott Knowles sent the gifts and made the calls to torment her. After he beats her, she persuades Derek to give a false account implicating Scott in Sharon's murder.
Elliot decides that Tyrell must be another figure in his mind and moves to erase the malicious work despite the gun pointed at him. Tyrell shoots him, making the danger physically undeniable. He calls Angela, who already knows to expect him and says she will be there when Elliot wakes. Elliot's recovery remains unseen. In Arizona, Trenton tells Mobley she may have found a way to undo the hack. Leon approaches before they can settle what to do with it.
