Leslie confronts Rue after Jules tells her about the relapse. Rue searches the house for Laurie's suitcase and becomes increasingly desperate when she learns that the drugs have been discarded. She lashes out at Leslie and Gia, then discovers Jules and Elliot have heard the argument. Jules repeats that she loves her, but Rue answers with insults and rejection before briefly agreeing to accept help.
On the journey to treatment, Rue escapes from the car and runs through traffic. At the Howard house, she looks for drugs and valuables, only to find Leslie waiting with the others. Cassie's attempt to comfort her prompts Rue to expose Cassie's affair with Nate. Maddy's anger creates the distraction Rue needs to leave. Fezco then catches her trying to steal medication from his grandmother and forces her out of his home.
After another burglary and a flight from police, Rue reaches Laurie in withdrawal with stolen cash and jewelry. Laurie demands money for the missing supply and presents herself as understanding Rue's distress while suggesting that the debt could be repaid through exploitation. She gives Rue morphine, leaving her vulnerable inside the locked apartment. Rue wakes the next morning and escapes through a window. At home, Leslie waits anxiously, and a sound at the door brings her to call Rue's name.
