Jonas emerges from the future in 1921, wounded and uncertain where he has arrived. People who find him assume his injuries came from the war. He meets young Noah and tries to return through the caves, only to find the passage unfinished. Noah tells him it will not open for another 32 years. With that route closed, Jonas follows him toward Sic Mundus, where the older Noah is also waiting for him.
In 2020, Hannah brings Charlotte into the secret of adult Jonas's identity. Charlotte takes them to the bunker, where Peter shares what he knows about Mads and Claudia. Katharina rejects their explanation until she finds Mikkel in a school photograph from 1987. Claudia, visiting 2020 from 1987, searches records of her own disappearance and her father's death. Clausen continues questioning Aleksander about his name while Charlotte pursues the connections to Tannhaus and Noah.
Martha, Magnus, Franziska and Elisabeth investigate the caves and catch Bartosz carrying a strange machine. Angry that he has kept secrets while their relatives remain missing, they tie him up, take the device and leave him there. In 1921, the two Noahs lead Jonas into the underground headquarters. Adam attributes his damaged appearance to time travel, then shows Jonas the matching scar around his neck and declares that he is Jonas's older self.
