Helge returns home in 1954 after months missing, but he cannot explain what happened to him. His mother welcomes Noah, whose presence comforts the boy even though the priest used him in the chair experiments. Agnes is revealed as Noah's sister and meets elderly Claudia in secret. Claudia gives her a newspaper clipping about her own death, while Agnes offers Noah information about the missing notebook pages as a way back into Sic Mundus.
In 1987, Claudia visits Tannhaus with his book and the time machine. He explains that information carried back from the future can circulate without an identifiable beginning: his book reached him before he wrote it. Egon, meanwhile, learns Ulrich's name and his claim to come from the future. Checking Mikkel's file connects the boy to Ulrich. When Egon shows Ulrich a photograph of Mikkel, Ulrich attacks him in desperation to find his son.
Elderly Claudia visits the younger Egon in 1954 and asks his forgiveness without revealing that she is his daughter. She also leaves Tannhaus a copy of his future book. Noah later confronts her in the woods and shoots her, then searches her clothes for the missing pages. What he reads about Charlotte shocks him, and he conceals his discovery from Adam. Claudia's younger self makes her first journey to 2020 and sees Regina seriously ill.
