Karen struggles with the deaths at the Bulletin and tells Ray that the attacker was not the real Daredevil. Ellison survives his wounds, but her certainty makes him realise she knows who the real masked man is. He demands that she reveal the identity and threatens her job when she refuses. The attack has cost them their witness and placed another secret between Karen and the newspaper, while Foggy tries to keep her from accepting blame for everyone who died.
Ray begins questioning the story he has accepted from Fisk. The prison warden avoids his questions about Evans, and a visit to the hotel exposes how comfortable and controlling the protected informant has become. Fisk cuts off discussion of the murdered witness. Matt, recovering at the church, follows the copied suit to Melvin, who admits Fisk threatened Betsy to force him to make it. The workshop visit becomes another ambush when Melvin traps Matt beside a second suit as agents approach.
Matt escapes, leaving Melvin in custody, after learning that the impostor works for the FBI. Betsy challenges his use of Melvin when he comes to warn her. Karen's call home ends with her father refusing her return, while Ray's wife demands honesty about the danger at the Bulletin. Matt finally approaches Ray in his garage and explains the impersonation. Their uneasy conversation offers a route to the truth through someone inside the organisation Fisk has been manipulating.
