Nobu targets people Matt has rescued, using police information obtained through threats to turn them into hostages. Karen and Turk are among those captured. Matt and Elektra learn the plan and reach the building together, choosing to free the prisoners before pursuing Nobu. Karen persuades Turk to reactivate his tracking device, drawing the authorities, but the Hand's fighters keep them outside. Matt and Elektra get the hostages out and retreat upwards as attackers close in from several directions.
On the roof, Matt proposes that they leave together if they survive, imagining a life beyond the identities that have trapped them. Nobu insists Elektra belongs to the Hand and attacks. She takes the blow meant for Matt and dies in his arms. Frank appears on a neighbouring rooftop and shoots approaching fighters, giving Matt a chance to defeat Nobu and throw him from the building. When Nobu rises again below, Stick beheads him.
Matt and Stick bury Elektra and speak about what loving her meant. Foggy accepts a new legal job and shares a final drink with Karen, assuring her their friendship will continue after the firm's closure. Karen writes for the newspaper, while Frank leaves his family home behind in an explosion. Matt meets Karen at the old office and shows her his helmet, revealing that he is Daredevil. Elsewhere, the Hand has recovered Elektra's body and closes it inside its sarcophagus.
