Jesse drives Gus and the wounded Mike to a makeshift clinic in Mexico. Gus recovers, but Mike must stay behind. Jesse is told he will cook in Walt's place and insists Gus leave Walt alone. In Albuquerque, Hank asks Walt to drive him to the chicken farm, then says he also plans to inspect the connected industrial laundry. Walt deliberately crashes the car to stop him. Skyler learns Ted spent her money instead of paying the IRS; Saul sends Huell and Kuby to pressure Ted, who is badly hurt while trying to escape. Ted had signed the cheque before tripping and hitting his head. Gus also takes Jesse to Hector’s nursing home and identifies Jesse as the man who killed Hector’s last living descendant.
Walt asks Jesse to stand with him against Gus, but Jesse remains angry after their fight. Gus takes Walt to the desert, fires him and threatens to kill Hank and Walt's family if Walt interferes again. Walt asks Saul to help him disappear and to send the DEA an anonymous warning about Hank. He rushes home for his hidden cash but finds it short. Skyler admits she gave the money to Ted. Walt screams, then laughs as Marie calls to say agents are coming to protect Hank. Saul’s escape arrangement requires half a million dollars for the family, which Walt can no longer pay. Skyler backs away from him in fear.
