At a hospital appointment, Walt sees a growth on a lung scan and assumes his cancer has worsened, though the test results are not ready. Worried that medical bills and Saul's fees have left little money for his family, he pushes Jesse into a four-day desert cook. He claims their methylamine will soon spoil and tells Skyler he is visiting his mother. Jesse leaves the RV's keys in the ignition, draining its battery while they work. After several days they have produced a large supply, but the generator runs out of fuel and the RV will not start.
Walt and Jesse try to transfer gasoline to the generator, but a spill catches fire. Jesse uses their drinking water to put it out, leaving them with no water and no working vehicle. They call Skinny Pete for help, yet he gets lost and Walt's phone battery dies. Walt cannot revive the RV by cranking the generator, so Jesse urges him not to give up. Walt builds a makeshift battery from materials in the vehicle, and it supplies enough power to start the RV. They return to Albuquerque. At the follow-up appointment, Walt learns that his cancer is in remission and the apparent growth was inflamed tissue. His family celebrates, while Walt privately reacts with anger and punches a bathroom towel dispenser.
