Now that his cancer is in remission, Walt tells Jesse that he is leaving the drug business. At a party celebrating Walt's health, he pours too much tequila for Walter Jr. Hank takes the bottle away, and Walt angrily demands it back. The argument ends when Jr. vomits into the pool. The next day Skyler will not take Walt's calls as he tries to apologize. He throws himself into repairs at home, replacing the water heater and cutting into the basement floor to address a rot problem. At work, Skyler confides in Ted Beneke that she still believes Walt is ill.
Walt's attention also turns to a pair of strangers buying supplies to cook meth. He gives one advice in the hardware store, then sees the men using an RV in the parking lot and recognises that someone is copying his operation. He warns them to stay out of his territory, and they drive away. Jesse and Jane spend time together, but she pretends not to know him when her father Donald appears at the door of her property. Jesse is hurt and withdraws; after he smokes meth, Jane slips a drawing under his door as an apology. Skyler tells Ted she cannot feel optimistic because she believes Walt's cancer is still active, and Ted holds her hand.
