Lantern

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

The opening returns to Jimmy and Chuck as children: Chuck reads The Adventures of Mabel to his younger brother in a tent by lantern light. In the present, Kim is home recovering from the car crash, her arm in a cast. She and Jimmy collect her scattered papers, then close their shared office to save money. Kim works from home, while Francesca returns to the Motor Vehicle Division. Jimmy stages an argument with Erin and admits to manipulating Irene, restoring her standing with the Sandpiper residents. The confession repairs Irene’s friendships but costs Jimmy the elder-law clients he had built.

Nacho’s father reluctantly accepts Hector’s payment to use the upholstery shop as a front. Nacho prepares to ambush Hector, but a meeting with Gus and Juan Bolsa interrupts him. Juan says Gus’s organization will handle cross-border shipments for both groups. Hector becomes enraged and suffers a stroke; Gus performs CPR and saves him. Nacho later replaces the fake capsules with Hector’s real medication, while Gus watches him closely. At HHM, Chuck agrees to drop his lawsuit if he can stay, but Howard buys out his partnership and announces his retirement. Jimmy tries to make peace with Chuck and is told he never mattered much to him. Chuck tears apart his home, then knocks over a lantern and starts a fire.
