A flashback shows Jimmy passing the bar while working in HHM’s mailroom. He hopes to join the firm as a lawyer, but Howard tells him there is no place for him. In the present, a Sandpiper Crossing resident’s complaint about her allowance prompts Jimmy to examine her bills. He finds inflated charges and collects other residents’ invoices. Chuck recognizes evidence of systematic fraud and encourages him to investigate. When Sandpiper bars Jimmy from visiting clients, he hears documents being shredded. He writes a demand to preserve evidence on toilet paper in the bathroom, then hands it over as staff escort him out.
Jimmy searches the facility’s dumpsters that night. At Chuck’s house, the brothers reconstruct shredded papers and discover evidence supporting a class action. Chuck becomes co-counsel and joins a meeting with Sandpiper’s attorneys. They offer a comparatively small settlement, but the brothers argue that the company’s interstate conduct supports a RICO case. Chuck demands twenty million dollars, which the opposing lawyers reject. Absorbed in their work afterward, Chuck walks outside to Jimmy’s car without his usual electrical precautions, then freezes when Jimmy calls attention to it. Meanwhile, Stacey tells Mike that Matt’s hidden money will not cover their living costs. Mike returns to the veterinarian to ask about illegal paid work.
