Chappelle questions Jack about Nina's death and reviews the security recording, which does not provide a clear view of the final shooting. Jack maintains that she was reaching for her weapon. A fresh lead on Amador interrupts the investigation when Chloe traces activity on his bank account. Chappelle reluctantly allows Jack to join Chase in pursuing the location rather than keep him at CTU.
Amador's employer gives him and Alvers instructions for a virus attack at the Chandler Plaza Hotel. Alvers enters the building disguised as a maintenance worker while Jack's team raids Amador's meeting place in Chinatown. Amador is captured, but he has already passed the virus on. His laptop contains plans of the hotel. Jack warns CTU against a rushed evacuation that could spread contamination, and Tony orders the building sealed.
Michelle and Gael reach the hotel before the protective equipment arrives. Unwilling to leave its staff to find Alvers alone, Michelle leads a team inside. She captures him after finding a hotel employee dead and learns that he has placed the virus in the ventilation system. Gael reaches the device beneath a fan and tries to remove the vial. The timer expires first, spraying powder into his face and the air ducts. Meanwhile, Julia implicates Sherry in Milliken's death, and Sherry claims Palmer can confirm her false alibi.
