Grapple and Dash Open the Locked Routes
On this page
Paris in Steelrising is built in layers. The publisher describes carriages, grapples, secret passages and a detailed map as the ways through it, and says the grappling hook adds a new dimension to exploring the city.
Look up before you turn back
A grappling hook makes vertical space part of the level rather than scenery. When a street-level door is barred, the route is often above it. The store description pairs the grapple with the dash to reach the city’s secrets, so the check is the same each time: is there a grapple point, and does a dash from here reach it?
Use the map for the level you are standing on
Because the city has multiple levels you can explore over and over, a district you have already cleared is not finished. Compare the map against what you can see: an unconnected ledge or a route that stops abruptly usually means an entry point you have not found yet.
Treat carriages as routes, not set dressing
The store lists carriages alongside grapples and secret passages. If a district is walled off, check whether transport gets you inside before you grind the same enemies for a key that may not exist.
Exploration feeds the fights, so keep the combat plan current: read the automaton before you commit, and build Aegis around one fighting style before upgrading.
