Build Around Weapons and Powers
On this page
New World: Aeternum uses a classless, real-time action combat system where you channel supernatural forces or wield deadly weapons, and the publisher asks whether you will act as a shield on the front line or sling spells from a safe distance.
Classless means loadout-driven
With no class to pick, the front-line protector and the distant caster are both built from the same materials: melee weapons, ranged artillery and supernatural powers. The role is therefore something you assemble and can reassemble later.
Pick a distance you enjoy
The publisher frames the choice as acting as a protective shield on the front lines or supporting allies from a safe distance. Because it is real-time action combat, that choice determines what a fight feels like moment to moment, not just what numbers you bring.
It works at three scales
The store describes fighting alone, with a small team, or in massed armies for player-versus-player battles. A build that works solo may need adjusting for a large engagement, which is another reason keeping the loadout flexible pays off.
The starting point for all of it is choosing an archetype you can change, and getting around the island is covered in mounts and the Riding Trade Skill.
