Plan Around Hundreds of Abilities
On this page
Mewgenics presents itself as simple and then keeps adding layers, and the store backs that promise up with unusually specific numbers.
The raw counts
The store lists 1000+ unique abilities at 75 per class, 900+ items, 200+ enemies and bosses, 10+ character classes and a 200+ hour main campaign. Those figures are the publisher’s own marketing, but they set an expectation: experimenting is the intended activity rather than an optional extra.
Every run is a fresh puzzle
Countless environmental interactions combined with that much variety means every run throws fresh tactical puzzles at you, according to the store. A roguelite promising that you will never experience the same game twice is really promising that learning the systems matters more than memorising a route.
From simple to complex
Early runs teach the basics, and the layers appear over time until you are optimising breeding chains, discovering unexpected ability combos and making strategic choices about the house. That progression is the honest pitch of the page: the complexity is there, but none of it is required on the first day.
The daily loop is covered in running the cat loop. The inheritance system is covered in breeding the next generation.
