Lead the Inquisition
On this page
In Dragon Age: Inquisition you are the Inquisitor, and the store gives the job a blunt description: you are tasked with saving the world from itself.
Thedas is already falling apart
Factions constantly war with each other even as a larger demonic invasion has begun, and the store says you and your band of champions are the only ones who can hold it together. That framing matters, because it makes leadership the core activity of the game rather than something you unlock on the way to the real content.
Leading means sending people
You are not just deciding who to send into which battle; you are making important decisions that shape the future of Thedas. Since each choice carries weight and leads to a variety of outcomes, the roster is better read as a set of consequences than as a stat sheet to optimise.
One wrong move, in the world itself
The store says the journey is highly personalized and that one wrong move could set in motion a series of events that alters the physical aspects of the world itself. A world that changes shape around your decisions is the strongest argument for treating each one deliberately rather than hunting for the points.
How the fights themselves run is covered in choosing the strategic view. What there is to explore is covered in exploring Thedas and its add-ons.
