Fight Without a Single Path
On this page
Crimson Desert is built so that no two fights have to resolve the same way: the store says plainly that on its battlefields there is no single path to victory.
Grow the arsenal first
Skills, weapons and equipment are all grown as an arsenal, and the store hands the decision back to you by telling you to decide how you want to use them. That is a different instruction from picking the strongest option available, and it is the one the combat is designed around.
Chain what you already have
Powerful weapon skills can be paired with hard-hitting bare-hand hits and kicks, and with a wide range of grapples, to create seamless chains of attacks. Weapons named include swords, spears, greatswords, axes, dual wields and various ranged options, and abilities can be pushed further with elemental enhancements.
Stay mobile, stay relentless
The listed movement options are slides, dodges, counters and swings, and the point is that each flows directly into your next attack. The store also calls the pace fast and visceral and says a split second can decide your fate, so a plan that assumes you can stand still is a plan that will not survive contact.
Where those fights happen is covered in exploring Pywel and the Abyss. What you do between them is covered in setting up the Greymane camp.
