Plant, Water and Harvest a Small Crop Patch
On this page
Grow a small patch of crops from seeds you already have. For a simple start, use Heart Berry or Bomb Pepper seeds on Dirt, with a Basic Workbench and an accessible water tile nearby.
Prepare your tools
Craft a Wooden Hoe at the Basic Workbench for 4 Wood. Make a Watering Can there for 4 Copper Bars. Select the can and use it on a water tile to refill it before planting. Hoe recipe · Watering Can
Till, plant and water
Use the hoe on the ground you want to plant. Select your seeds, then right-click the tilled tiles to plant them. Switch to the Watering Can and water each planted tile.
Match the seed to its ground. Heart Berry and Bomb Pepper grow on Dirt; Carrock needs Stone Block, while Puffungi needs Mold Block. A patch that works for one crop may be wrong for another. Planting and ground types
If a seed will not plant, check the ground type and whether you tilled it. If the can no longer waters tiles, refill it at water.
Harvest and replant
Wait for the plants to become fully grown, then harvest them manually. Replant using the seeds you collected and water the planted tiles again. Early on, a harvest does not guarantee a replacement seed, so keep some spares instead of assuming the patch will maintain itself forever. Gardening
Use your crops in two-ingredient meals. If your hoe needs attention, use the Salvage and Repair Station.
