No Rest for the Wicked
Sebastian Wroth was turned into a vampire against his will centuries ago, and he has been alone with his hatred of what he has become ever since.
About
No Rest for the Wicked is a paranormal romance by the American writer Kresley Cole, published in 2006. It is the second book of the Immortals After Dark series, which is made up of connected stories about the immortal creatures of its world.
Sebastian Wroth was a vampire soldier who has grown weary of living. He was turned into a vampire against his will, and he sees himself as a nightmare because of it; he has been burdened with that hatred and alone with it for centuries, and he has little reason to want to go on.
The creature who comes to destroy him is Kaderin the Cold Hearted, an assassin of the fey who lost two sisters to a vampire attack long ago. She is dispatched to kill Sebastian, and what happens when she finds him is that she saves him instead, to her own considerable surprise.
The series continues in the books that follow, and this volume is one of a long run of romances in which immortals of different kinds find themselves paired across the usual boundaries.
