Dark Skye
Thronos, prince of Skye Hall, loved Lanthe when they were children, before their families' war caught the two of them in the middle of it and left them enemies.
About
Dark Skye is a paranormal romance by the American writer Kresley Cole, published in 2014. It is one of the later books in her Immortals After Dark series, in which several kinds of immortal beings compete and intermarry in a world hidden inside the ordinary one.
Thronos is a prince of the Vrekeners, and as a boy he loved a mischievous Sorceri girl called Lanthe, who made him question the assumptions of his own clan. Their families were already at war, and a tragedy that caught the two of them in the middle of it separated them permanently and turned affection into something else.
Centuries later Thronos is a warrior with a reputation for cruelty, and he is hunting Lanthe with the intention of making her pay for what happened and for the marks she left on him. Lanthe has her own account of the same events and her own reasons for running, and the novel follows the two of them as he closes in, bringing the old quarrel and the older attachment along with him.
