Lover Avenged
The vampire warriors of the Black Dagger Brotherhood defend their race against the people who hunt them, and one member's loyalty is about to be tested while his dangerous mixed blood is revealed.
About
Lover Avenged is a paranormal romance novel by J. R. Ward, published in 2009 and part of her Black Dagger Brotherhood sequence. The Brotherhood is a group of vampire warriors defending their race against the people who hunt it.
The book belongs to Rehvenge, who has kept his distance from the Brotherhood for a long time even though his sister is married to one of its members. He has his own reasons for staying away, and the novel is concerned with what happens to those reasons as the war continues.
The revelation the book works towards is his mixed blood, described as dangerous and as something he has kept concealed. Loyalty is the thing being tested, and it is being tested while the Brotherhood is under pressure on several fronts at once.
The sequence is built on the idea that each volume takes one member of the group and opens him up, and this one does that for the man who has spent the earlier books staying just outside the room.
