Empire of Storms
Aelin Galathynius has a claim to a throne she does not yet hold, and the people loyal to her have been bought and lost as often as they have been won.
About
Empire of Storms is a fantasy novel by the American writer Sarah J. Maas, published in 2016 and the fifth book of the Throne of Glass series.
Aelin Galathynius has been working towards a throne since the beginning of the series and is not close to it yet. The loyalties she depends on have been broken and bought, the friends she started with are not all still with her, and the arrival of magic in the world has set the people who have it against the people who do not. She has pledged herself to the warrior-prince who fights beside her and to the people she intends to save, and she is willing to use everything she has learned about her own power to protect them. What she is facing now comes out of the past, and the only answer she can find is a quest that may cost her everything she cares about.
The novel is written from several points of view. It follows directly from the fourth book and continues the story of Aelin's claim to her kingdom.
